About Calvary Baptist Church of Morrisville

It all began with a heart for Jesus.

Originally started by a group of 15 adults in the community of Carpenter, NC, a part of Wake County located close to Morrisville, Calvary Baptist Church of Morrisville, NC began as The Freewill Gospel Church of Carpenter, North Carolina. Land was purchased in Morrisville by Freewill Gospel Church, Inc. for a permanent site for the church on October 1, 1977. In 1982, the membership voted to change the name to Calvary Baptist Church of Morrisville, NC.

The first Pastor at Calvary Baptist Church of Morrisville was Rev. Richard M. Coman, who was also the architect who drew up the plans for the construction of the church building. The membership of the church actively participated in its construction. After Reverend Coman moved from the area, the Rev. Dick Allen, loved by all, became the second pastor to serve. During this time, Calvary Baptist Church of Morrisville, NC became known as “The Praying Church”.

Calvary Baptist Church of Morrisville, NC joined the Raleigh Baptist Association in 2019. Although church membership has fluctuated through the years, with the guidance of several pastors and participation of the membership along the way, Calvary Baptist Church of Morrisville, NC now has a bright future again. Several other church congregations also hold their activities and services within the Calvary Baptist Church of Morrisville, NC facility.

We welcome you to visit and join our church family where we believe you will feel the Holy Spirit as we glorify Jesus together.
